Taking the form of a giant treehouse fashioned from wire and wood, and smoothed over with concrete, the Crazy House may seem a chaotic design, but there is method behind the madness. The work of architect Dang Viet Nga, Crazy House was begun in 1990 and is projected to be completed by 2020. Its a labour of love for Dang, whose aim is to reconnect people with nature and reject conventional architectural methods. Here there are windows of all shapes and sizes to let light in from various angles, ladders, tunnels, and everywhere hidden nooks. Its a fantasy for explorers. Your two-night stay at this bizarre guesthouse will let you get acquainted with the property at your leisure. Rooms are themed and are full of fascinating, intricate detail as well as sculptures - the gigantic statue of a kangaroo with glowing red eyes must be seen, as must the bird atop an egg, wings outstretched. For once Tinggly is a bit lost for words - to understand the genius behind Crazy House, you have to actually stay there. We hope you do.
