Indian Gaur has been recently reintroduced after the park lost all its Gaur population due to some disease. Various species of Reptiles and Snakes also inhabit the park in large numbers. The stories of the popular Tigers of the world including Banka, the ever remembered Charger - the aggressive Tiger, Sita - the most photographed Tigress in the world, Mohini, Langru, B2, Kankatti and the dominating males Bamera, Blue Eyes and Mukunda will bind you so close that they tend to become your family friends.
Birding at Bandhavgarh National Park
Bandhavgarh National Park is popular not only for its fauna but is also very popular among the Bird Watchers. The vegetation of the lush green forest filled with Sal trees and Bamboos with streams of water makes it a perfect habitat to various species of birds. Over 250 species of birds can be spotted flying across the park and it is believed that no Bird lover returns from Bandhavgarh without watching or learning something new about these admirable flying creatures.
Tigers at Bandhavgarh National Park
Sighting of Tigers is not a rare phenomenon in Bandhavgarh and just one glance of the majestic big cat changes the childhood perception about the Tiger depicted as the nasty Sher Khan of the Mogli's jungle. Sighting a Tiger in the wild is an experience, which people carry with them for their lifetime. We assure you that the memories of the jungle safari passing through the Siddhbaba temple, Chakradhara meadows, Sheshsaiya - the reclining statue of Lord Vishnu, Badi Gufa, Sita Mandap, Mahaman, Bandhaini Hills, Sukha Dam, Bhitri, Mirchahani, Aamanala, Ghorademon, Raj Behra, Charger Point and the road to the Fort entices guests to return to Bandhavgarh back again.
Jungle Safari
Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve is famous for its Jungle Safari in open jeep/gypsy and elephant for which the park entry tickets need to be booked in advance. For gypsy safari, the park permits entry only after sunrise and exit before sunset and so the timings tend to change with the season. In winters, the morning safari is conducted from around 6.15 am to 10.15 am and the evening safari is from around 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.
